???????Projects Engineer - Due to our continued growth and investment, we are looking for a Project Engineer to join our Projects Engineering team in Wrexham (LL13 9UG).  The hours of work for this role are Monday to Friday 08:00hrs to 17:00hrs. This hands-on role sits within our central Projects function, supporting the delivery of capital investment across site. Working as part of a team of three Project Engineers, you will play a key role in supporting the installation and commissioning of new equipment, production lines and infrastructure.

What would you be doing?

As a Project Engineer, you will support the delivery of CAPEX projects across site, working closely with the Projects Manager and wider engineering team. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the delivery of capital projects from concept through to commissioning and handover.  Current live projects include the building and commissioning of a new, state-of-the-art, x sq/ft Sourdough Bakery on the Wrexham campus
  • Coordinating installation activities for new equipment, production lines and infrastructure
  • Working alongside contractors and equipment suppliers during installation phases
  • Supporting commissioning, testing, validation and installation of new equipment
  • Liaising with Production, Technical, Hygiene and Engineering teams to ensure alignment
  • Monitoring contractor performance, safety and quality of work
  • Supporting project planning, timelines and budget tracking
  • Ensuring all activities comply with health & safety, food safety and site standards
  • Supporting efforts to minimise disruption to production during installations
  • Contributing to continuous improvement through engineering solutions
  • Working cross-functionally with Commercial, NPD, Finance and Leadership teams to embed insight into decision-making

 

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone with a strong engineering background who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and being involved in delivering real, tangible improvements on site.

Essential:

  • Experience in an engineering role within food manufacturing or FMCG
  • Exposure to installation, project or CAPEX-related activities
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with external contractors
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Good awareness of health & safety requirements

Desirable:

  • Experience in a Project Engineer or similar role
  • Experience supporting equipment installation and commissioning
  • Engineering qualification (Mechanical, Electrical or similar)
  • Knowledge of CDM regulations
  • Experience working with 2D AutoCad
  • Experience working with contractors and suppliers
  • Exposure to automation or packaging equipment
  • Bakery experience is beneficial, but not essential.
