Due to our continued growth and success we are looking for a QA Technician to join our Technical team at our new Sourdough facility in Wrexham. The hours of work for this role are Monday to Friday, 08:00hrs to 17:00hrs.

What would you be doing?

As a QA Technician, you will support the Technical team in ensuring that all products, processes and materials meet the highest standards of food safety, quality, legality and customer compliance. The role will play a key part in maintaining an audit-ready environment and promoting strong food safety culture across the site.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Carrying out quality checks and process verification across production
  • Supporting HACCP monitoring and CCP verification activities
  • Conducting GMP, hygiene and factory standards audits
  • Completing product, environmental and microbiological sampling activities
  • Supporting allergen control and foreign body management programmes
  • Raising and supporting investigation of non-conformances and quality incidents
  • Assisting with customer complaint investigations and trend analysis
  • Maintaining accurate technical records and documentation within the QMS
  • Supporting calibration activities for technical equipment
  • Working closely with Production and Operations teams to maintain quality standards

The successful candidate for this role will need to demonstrate the following skills, qualifications and attributes:

Essential

  • Experience working in a QA or Technical role within food manufacturing
  • Understanding of food safety systems including HACCP and GMP
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation
  • Confident using Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Desirable

  • Experience working within a bakery manufacturing environment
  • Awareness of BRCGS Food Safety Standard or retailer technical standards
  • Experience supporting internal or external audits
  • Experience investigating non-conformances or customer complaints

Qualifications

  • Food Safety Level 2 and HACCP Level 2 (or willingness to achieve)
  • Food Safety Level 3, HACCP Level 3 or Internal Auditor qualification would be advantageous
