Due to our continued growth and success we are looking for an Insight Manager to join our Commercial team in Wrexham (LL13 9UG). The hours of work for this role are Monday to Friday 08:30hrs to 17:00hrs. This is a key strategic role, sitting at the heart of food trends, bakery innovation and customer decision-making. You’ll be responsible for spotting emerging trends, sourcing insight from a wide range of internal/external sources and turning that insight into inspiration and direction for Commercial, NPD and our customers.

What would you get for working here?

If you have the insight, data and commercial experience we are looking for then you will receive a total reward package that includes:

  • A competitive salary of £60,000 p/a
  • 10% Pension Contribution (5% Ees / 5% Ers)
  • 33 days annual leave (Inc of Bank Holidays)
  • Private Health Care (Family)
  • Life Assurance
  • £250 refer-a-friend scheme
  • Access to Stream (formerly Wagestream) – a financial wellbeing benefit that lets you track earnings and access earned pay before payday
  • Exclusive discounts at 800+ retailers online and in-store
  • Professional development opportunities and qualifications
  • Opportunity to make a real impact in a growing, values-led business

What would you be doing?

Our Vision as a business is to be the “Go-to” supplier of bakery products, working nationally with retailers such as M&S, Tesco and Sainsbury’s on their premium private label range and regionally through the Village Bakery brand. In achieving this vision, we want to be recognised as a family business that continually invests in the future through the development of our people, quality and food safety culture, equipment and processes.

As Insight Manager, you will play a key role in helping the business look forward, identify white space opportunities and inspire both customers and internal teams. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Identifying and tracking food, bakery and ingredient trends and new product launches, both within and beyond the bakery category
  • Working closely with ingredient suppliers to understand emerging food trends, technologies and opportunities
  • Sourcing insight creatively from a variety of channels including suppliers, customers, agencies, trade media, food events and market observation
  • Supporting NPD and innovation by providing insight that inspires new product ideas, formats and ranges
  • Helping the business move confidently into new and emerging spaces, where limited historic data exists
  • Supporting commercial team with insight that strengthens customer conversations and influences decision-making
  • Providing clear, compelling insight to support customer presentations, range reviews and new business opportunities
  • Translating insight into simple, engaging storytelling rather than complex data outputs
  • Using available data and insight tools where appropriate to complement wider market understanding
  • Working cross-functionally with Commercial, NPD, Finance and Leadership teams to embed insight into decision-making

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone who is naturally curious about food, consumers and trends and who enjoys connecting the dots rather than relying solely on data.

Essential:

  • Experience in an insight, commercial, category, innovation or food-focused role
  • Strong understanding of food, bakery or FMCG trends
  • Ability to source insight from multiple formal and informal sources
  • Commercial mindset with the confidence to influence stakeholders and customers
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills
  • Experience supporting customer-facing teams or commercial decision-making
  • Comfortable working in ambiguity and white space

Desirable:

  • Degree educated in a relevant qualification
  • Experience within bakery, food manufacturing or FMCG
  • Experience working with ingredient suppliers or food partners
  • Intermediate level Excel and Powerpoint skills
  • Exposure to insight platforms such as Kantar, Circana, Nielsen, Dunnhumby (useful but not essential)
  • Experience supporting NPD or innovation pipelines
  • Experience working with agencies, focus groups or customer insight sessions

Bakery experience is preferred, but curiosity, commercial thinking and food passion are key.
