Due to our continued growth and success we are looking for a Hygiene Supervisor to join our Bakery Operations team at the Village Bakery. This is a hands-on supervisory role, responsible for leading and working alongside the hygiene team to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, food safety and hygiene across our bakery production areas. The hours of work for this role are Monday to Friday (09:00hrs to 18:00hrs).

As Hygiene Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring our bakeries maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and compliance.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading and working alongside the hygiene team to complete daily cleaning schedules
  • Cleaning bakery production areas including equipment, floors, drains, walls and work surfaces
  • Supporting the dismantling and reassembly of machinery for deep cleaning
  • Ensuring allergen changeover cleans are completed correctly
  • Operating hygiene equipment such as foamers, jet washers and industrial cleaning equipment
  • Monitoring hygiene standards and addressing issues immediately
  • Supporting the training and development of hygiene team members
  • Completing hygiene documentation including cleaning records and pre-operational checks
  • Ensuring safe handling and correct use of cleaning chemicals in line with COSHH requirements
  • Working closely with production, engineering and QA teams to maintain food safety standards

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone who enjoys working in a hands-on environment, takes pride in maintaining high standards and is confident leading and supporting a team.

Essential:

  • Experience working in a hygiene or cleaning role within food manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
  • Ability to lead by example and work alongside a team
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Knowledge of COSHH and safe chemical handling
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment

Desirable:

  • Previous team leader or supervisory experience
  • Experience within bakery or food manufacturing
  • Experience supporting audit and compliance standards such as BRC
  • Experience cleaning production machinery and equipment
