Group Head of Technical - Due to our continued growth and success we are looking for a Group Head of Technical to join our Technical team in Wrexham (LL13 9UG). The hours of work for this role are Monday to Friday 08:00hrs to 17:00hrs.

What would you be doing?

Our Vision as a business is to be the “Go-to” supplier of bakery products, working nationally with retailers such as M&S and Waitrose on their premium private label range and regionally through the Village Bakery brand. In achieving this vision, we want to be recognised as a family business that continually invests in the future through the development of our people, quality and food safety culture, equipment and processes.

Reporting directly into the Operations Director, you will support delivery of this vision by leading the Technical Operations team over multiple manufacturing sites ensuring that food safety and quality requirements are adhered to at all times.  You will ensure that all products are produced in line with retailer codes of practice and compliant with all technical requirements. You will lead your team's development and drive the values of the business forward.

The successful candidate for this role will need to demonstrate the following skills, qualifications and attributes:

Essential

  • Demonstrable experience within a similar Technical Management role
  • A food technology/food science graduate with a wealth of technical experience within food manufacturing.
  • Strong leader with significant people management experience
  • Minimum HACCP Level 4
  • Proven track record of delivery against BRC standards
  • Demonstrable experience of ensuring compliance against major retailer Codes of Practice.
  • Great communicator
  • A true problem solver in all areas.

 

Desirable

  • Experience in bakery
